Türkiye is acting as a key mediator between Washington and Tehran to mitigate rising tensions in the Middle East. This was confirmed by Harun Armagan, the Deputy Chairman for Foreign Affairs of Türkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party).
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing The Times of Israel, that Ankara is actively involved in conveying messages between Iran and the United States. According to Armagan, Türkiye's primary objective is to encourage direct dialogue and prevent further military escalation in the region.
While Armagan did not disclose the specific details of the communications, he noted that these diplomatic efforts also extend to Gulf nations that are increasingly concerned about the potential for a broader regional conflict.
