The 26th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) begins today in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Turkish media reports, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will participate in the high-level gathering.

It has been confirmed that President Erdogan will attend the summit sessions in the Kyrgyz capital. Beyond his participation in the plenary meetings, the Turkish leader is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral discussions with various heads of state and government officials in attendance.

As part of his official visit, President Erdogan is expected to deliver a keynote address during the expanded format session of the summit, which is scheduled for September 1. The SCO summit, a significant platform for regional cooperation, is taking place in Bishkek from August 31 to September 1.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization, established in 2001, serves as a key Eurasian political, economic, and security alliance. Turkey, while not a full member, maintains a dialogue partner status with the organization, frequently engaging in its summits to discuss regional stability, economic connectivity, and security challenges across Central Asia and beyond.
