Traffic congestion is currently being observed on several major roads in Baku, causing delays for commuters during peak hours.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) has issued an official update regarding the current traffic situation in the capital of Azerbaijan.

According to the latest data from the ITMC, traffic density is notably high in the following areas:

  • Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 Yanvar" metro station;
  • Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 Yanvar" metro station;
  • Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 Yanvar" metro station towards the city center;
  • 1st Lakeside Road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • Heydar Aliyev Avenue, on the auxiliary road leading towards the city center.

The Intelligent Transport Management Center, which operates under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, continuously monitors the capital's road network using advanced surveillance technologies. These systems are designed to optimize traffic flow and provide real-time updates to the public to help manage the increasing number of vehicles on Baku's roads, particularly during morning and evening rush hours.
