Traffic congestion reported on major roads in Baku

Traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads in Baku, according to the latest updates from the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC).

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the following areas are currently experiencing heavy traffic flow:

  • Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, in the direction of the city center;
  • Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the 20 January metro station;
  • Tbilisi Avenue, from the 20 January metro station towards the city center;
  • The 20 January circle;
  • Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the 20 January metro station;
  • 1st Lake Side Road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the city center.

The Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) is responsible for monitoring traffic flow across the capital and implementing smart solutions to alleviate congestion. Baku, as the rapidly developing capital of Azerbaijan, frequently experiences increased traffic density during peak hours, necessitating ongoing infrastructure improvements and real-time traffic management to ensure public safety and efficient transit for commuters.
