Trabzonspor beat KuPS Kuopio 4-0 in Finland in the opening round of the UEFA Conference League.
The visitors opened the scoring in the third minute. Played through by Salah, Paul Onuachu broke behind the defense, went one-on-one with goalkeeper Kreidl and finished accurately.
Onuachu was injured in the ninth minute and was replaced by Djou. Salah’s shot narrowly missed the target in the 11th minute. Cenk Ozkacar also had two chances to score, but neither resulted in a goal: goalkeeper Kreidl saved his effort in the 28th minute, while his header in the 35th went wide.
KuPS Kuopio came close to equalizing with efforts from Kujasalo in the 37th minute and Parzyszek in the 41st, but both missed the target. In the 42nd minute, Trabzonspor goalkeeper Onana gathered Armah’s shot.
The UEFA Conference League is UEFA’s third-tier men’s club competition, below the Champions League and Europa League. The league phase brings together clubs from across Europe, with teams competing for a place in the knockout rounds.
