Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day, praising the country's achievements on the global stage.
In the letter, published by the Operative Information Center-OMM, Tokayev highlighted Azerbaijan's socio-economic development and strengthening statehood. "Under your strong and wise leadership, the brotherly people of Azerbaijan will successfully achieve high goals in ensuring sustainable economic growth and strengthening its potential as a regional power," the letter reads. Tokayev also emphasized Kazakhstan's commitment to the strategic partnership and alliance between the two nations, expressing confidence that active political dialogue will continue to elevate bilateral cooperation.
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan share deep historical, cultural, and economic ties, both being key nations in the Caspian region. In recent years, bilateral relations have intensified, particularly in the fields of transit, logistics, and energy, with both Baku and Astana playing pivotal roles in the development of the Middle Corridor (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route) connecting Asia and Europe.
