Venezuela's interim head of state, Delcy Rodriguez, has confirmed the rescue of a 3-year-old child named Klieber Moran, who had been trapped under rubble in the La Guaira province following a devastating earthquake.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Rodriguez officially announced the rescue, describing the event as a beacon of hope for the nation during this difficult time.

Jordanian civil defense teams, who provided initial medical assistance at the scene, reported that the child's condition is satisfactory and his vital signs remain stable. Jorge Rodriguez, Speaker of the Venezuelan Parliament, stated that the child is currently receiving further treatment at a hospital in the capital, Caracas.

Experts note that the critical 72-hour window, during which the probability of survival under rubble is highest, had already passed. Despite this, the successful rescue operation six days after the disaster has provided significant motivation to search-and-rescue teams working on the ground.

The situation in the country remains dire. While reports of such miraculous rescues offer a glimmer of hope, the nation continues to grapple with the aftermath of the disaster, as recovery efforts proceed and thousands of families await news regarding the fate of their missing loved ones.

Earthquakes of this magnitude often cause widespread structural damage, overwhelming local infrastructure and necessitating international humanitarian aid. The survival of individuals after such an extended period is rare and highlights the importance of persistent search-and-rescue efforts in disaster zones.
