A 16-year-old teenager has drowned in the sea in the Pirshagi settlement of Baku's Sabunchu district, according to reports received by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES). The incident occurred in an uncontrolled area, approximately 2 kilometers from the nearest designated rescue station.
The ministry informed the Operative Information Center-OMM that upon receiving the alert via the "112" hotline, divers and rescue teams from the State Service for Control over Small Vessels and Water Rescue were immediately dispatched to the scene to initiate search operations.
The search is currently underway for the teenager, identified as Asiman Seyidamirov (born in 2010), in the areas where he is presumed to have drowned. The Ministry of Emergency Situations regularly conducts such search and rescue missions across the coastline of Azerbaijan, particularly during the summer season when beach attendance increases significantly.
