Azerbaijani tennis player Tamerlan Azizov has achieved a significant result in his professional career. He advanced to the next round of the international M15 Baku tennis tournament after winning his opening match.
The result enabled Azizov to earn the first ATP ranking points of his career. The tennis player collected points in both the singles and doubles competitions.
As a result, Tamerlan Azizov entered the ATP rankings for the first time. He is currently the only Azerbaijani tennis player ranked by the ATP in both singles and doubles.
ATP points are awarded to tennis players based on their results in official tournaments. As a player progresses through a competition, the number of points earned increases. Ranking points in singles and doubles are calculated separately.
The ATP ranking is based on the points tennis players collect over the previous 52 weeks and affects their opportunities to participate in various tournaments.
