Switzerland defeated Scotland 3-0 in the second round of the Nations League group stage. In the match played in Glasgow on Sept. 29, the visitors produced the stronger performance.
Scotland were reduced to 10 men in the 11th minute when defender Jack Hendry was shown a straight red card. One minute later, Switzerland defender Ricardo Rodriguez opened the scoring.
Nico Elvedi doubled Switzerland’s lead in the 55th minute. Zeki Amdouni completed the scoring in the 82nd minute.
It was Switzerland’s second consecutive 3-0 victory in the tournament. The team leads Group 1 of League B with six points. Scotland, who have collected one point from two matches, are third in the group.
On Oct. 3, Scotland will travel to face North Macedonia, while Switzerland will host Slovenia.
