Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has received the newly appointed Ambassador of Sweden to Azerbaijan, Louise Morsing.
This was reported to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
The ambassador presented a copy of her credentials to Jeyhun Bayramov. The Minister congratulated the ambassador on her appointment and wished her success in her diplomatic activities, emphasizing the importance of her work in further developing existing relations between Azerbaijan and Sweden.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and development prospects of bilateral relations, including political dialogue, trade and economic ties, and cooperation in humanitarian and educational spheres. Regional issues were also on the agenda.
The sides highlighted that regular political consultations between the MFAs of the two countries contribute to the further development of the bilateral agenda. In this context, the importance of continuing mutual visits and high-level contacts was underscored.
A detailed exchange of views on regional security took place. Jeyhun Bayramov briefed the ambassador on Azerbaijan's efforts aimed at ensuring sustainable peace and stability in the region, the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and new cooperation opportunities in the region.
The meeting also covered Azerbaijan-European Union cooperation, regional connectivity, energy security, and other international issues of mutual interest.
Louise Morsing stated that she would spare no effort in further developing relations between Azerbaijan and Sweden.
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Sweden were established in 1992. Since then, the two nations have maintained a constructive dialogue, with Sweden actively participating in various regional initiatives and supporting the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
