A suspect has been detained in Baku for allegedly stealing a bank card and using it to make unauthorized purchases.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that officers from the 20th Police Station of the Nasimi District Police Department conducted an operation resulting in the apprehension of a suspect identified as I. Naghiyev. Investigations revealed that after obtaining the victim's bank card, the individual spent 576 manats at a clothing store located in the capital. An investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
In recent years, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan has intensified its efforts to combat financial fraud and the unauthorized use of payment cards. Law enforcement agencies in Baku frequently urge citizens to exercise caution with their personal banking information and to report lost or stolen cards immediately to prevent fraudulent transactions. Under Azerbaijani law, the misappropriation of funds through electronic means and theft of financial property carries significant legal penalties.
