Strong winds in Baku have resulted in injuries to two women, who were subsequently hospitalized at the Scientific-Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics under the Ministry of Health.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Health confirmed the incidents occurred during the recent period of adverse weather conditions in the capital.

The ministry reported that at 8:20 p.m. yesterday, a woman born in 1952 sustained injuries after falling due to the high winds. Following a medical examination, she was diagnosed with a fracture of the fourth metatarsal bone of her right foot and received necessary medical treatment.

Shortly thereafter, at 8:40 p.m., a woman born in 1987 suffered a hand injury caused by a door moving due to the strong gusts. Medical staff diagnosed her with lacerations to the third and fourth fingers of her left hand and provided appropriate care.

Both patients were assessed as being in satisfactory condition and have been discharged for outpatient treatment, with medical professionals providing instructions for continued recovery at home.

Baku, situated on the Absheron Peninsula, is frequently subject to strong winds, often referred to locally as the "City of Winds." The Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Health routinely advise citizens to exercise caution during severe weather events to prevent accidents caused by falling debris or structural instability.
