The specialty selection process for admission to secondary specialized education institutions (colleges) based on general (9-year) secondary education has officially commenced. The process will be conducted online from August 3 to August 9 (until 23:59), according to information provided by the State Examination Center (SEC) to the "Operative Information Center-OMM".
During this phase, applicants must select their preferred specialties and enter the corresponding codes into the "Electronic Specialty Selection Application" for final confirmation. Eligibility for the selection process requires applicants to have achieved a total score of at least 50 in the entrance exam, with a minimum score of 20 in Azerbaijani or Russian language and 10 in mathematics.
For specialties requiring special aptitude, applicants must have a total score of at least 50 (with no subject-specific limitations) and must have received a "pass" grade in the aptitude tests conducted by the relevant commission. Each applicant may select up to 12 specialty codes, covering both state-funded and paid education programs. The order of these codes is determined by the applicant, and placement is carried out within the admission plan based on this sequence.
Detailed information regarding the 2026/2027 academic year, including available specialties, admission quotas, and other necessary guidelines, has been published in the 3rd issue of the "Abituriyent" journal.
For the 2026 academic year, 6,210 spots have been allocated for admission to secondary specialized education institutions. Currently, 24,545 applicants who met the competition criteria have been cleared to participate in the selection process. The State Examination Center has noted that applicants who did not register during the initial application period but meet the competition requirements are permitted to register and participate in the selection process between August 3 and August 9.
Applicants seeking guidance can visit the "Abituriyent Advisory Centers" located at various institutions, including Western Caspian University, Azerbaijan University, Baku Business University, Odlar Yurdu University, Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan National Conservatory, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, Sumgait State University, and regional divisions of the SEC. These centers provide free assistance to all competition participants.
