Precipitation continues across various regions of Azerbaijan, with snow reported in high-altitude areas. According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, as of 16:00 on May 8, intensive rainfall and thunderstorms have been recorded in several districts, including Shahbuz, Dashkasan, Gadabay, Sheki, Oguz, Gabala, Ismayilli, Shamakhi, Khizi, Quba, Qusar, Shabran, Khachmaz, Balakan, Qakh (Saribash), Goychay, Zardab, Yardimli, and Lerik.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that snow has been observed in the mountainous settlements of Shahdag, Griz, and Khinalig. Additionally, small-sized hail was recorded in the Gadabay district between 14:28 and 14:29. The National Hydrometeorological Service noted that the weather conditions remain unstable, particularly in the northern and western parts of the country.

Azerbaijan's mountainous regions, particularly the Greater and Lesser Caucasus ranges, are known for rapid weather shifts during the spring months. Khinalig, one of the highest and most remote villages in Azerbaijan, frequently experiences snowfall even in May due to its elevation of over 2,300 meters. Such weather patterns are significant for the local agricultural sector and water resources management, as the National Hydrometeorological Service continues to monitor atmospheric conditions to provide timely warnings for residents and travelers in these high-altitude zones.
