Horadiz–Ağbənd yolunda "ağıllı kənd" layihələri genişlənir

"Smart village" projects are being expanded along the Horadiz-Agbend highway in Azerbaijan's liberated territories. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Vahid Hajiyev, the Special Representative of the President in Jabrayil, Qubadli, and Zangilan districts, announced this during the "Smart and Sustainable City Projects in Azerbaijan" event held as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

According to the official, modern urban planning in these villages is designed to meet residents' daily needs in a practical, safe, and efficient manner. "In Aghali village, for instance, we see educational and healthcare facilities, public services, and a hotel. There is also a lake where a hydroelectric power station has been installed, which is currently sufficient to provide energy for two villages consisting of approximately 500 houses and 500 families," Hajiyev stated. He added that similar smart solutions are being implemented in Horovlu and other villages currently under construction.

The "Smart Village" concept is a cornerstone of Azerbaijan's "Great Return" program, aimed at the sustainable resettlement of citizens to territories liberated from occupation. These projects integrate green energy, digital connectivity, and sustainable agriculture to create self-sufficient communities. The Horadiz-Agbend corridor serves as a vital transport link within the East Zangazur economic region, facilitating both local development and international transit routes as part of the regional restoration strategy.
