The First Turcological Congress, held in Baku a century ago, represented a significant historical milestone for the scientific and cultural advancement of Turkic peoples.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this assessment was highlighted in an address by Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the participants of the "Turkic World Week," dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turcological Congress.

The Uzbek head of state described the current forum as a tribute to the shared values that unite Turkic peoples:

"The discussions and ideas from that era remain a source of inspiration for us today. In this sense, we take the insights of our ancestors, dedicated to science and enlightenment, as a foundation for the future," Mirziyoyev stated.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also touched upon the prospects for developing cooperation among Turkic peoples, expressing his confidence that the forum would prove beneficial for strengthening unity and collaboration across the Turkic world.

The First Turcological Congress, which took place in Baku in 1926, is widely recognized as a landmark event in the history of Turkic studies.
