At least seven people were killed and 14 others injured in attacks on vehicles in the Russian-controlled part of Ukraine’s Luhansk region, Russian-installed authorities said Thursday, according to Anadolu Agency.
Leonid Pasechnik, the Russian-installed governor of the region in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas, said on the Russian social media platform “Max” that Ukrainian forces targeted a bus Thursday morning on the road between Petrovka and the regional capital, Luhansk.
“According to preliminary data, five people were killed and 13 others were wounded in this strike. Among the wounded are two teenagers, aged 15 and 17,” Pasechnik said. He added that all those injured were receiving medical care.
Pasechnik said that in a separate incident, Ukraine’s military struck a van on the road between Rebrykove and Rovenky, killing two people.
He also reported that a 38-year-old man was wounded in an attack on a minibus in Alchevsk. Pasechnik said those responsible would “inevitably face the punishment they deserve.”
Ukrainian authorities have not commented on the incidents.
