Borussia Dortmund beat Sabah 2-1 in their UEFA Champions League league-phase match. In the game at Baku Olympic Stadium, striker Serhou Guirassy scored both goals for the German side.
Goalkeeper Gregor Kobel praised Guirassy’s performance: “Serhou is a real machine; there is nothing more to say about him.”
Dortmund’s Dutch midfielder Joey Veerman also praised the striker’s performance. He said that although opposing defenders kept a close eye on Guirassy, the forward posed a major threat when crosses came in. Veerman called him a “very important striker” for the team.
Guirassy spoke about the importance of the victory after the match: “After our recent results, morale in the team had fallen considerably. That made this win very important for us. This is what sets a big team apart: it knows how to win games like this.” He joined Borussia Dortmund from Stuttgart in 2024 and has scored 21 goals in the UEFA Champions League since then.
