Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has announced that he may resign before the official end of his presidential term, according to foreign media reports cited by Operative Information Center-OMM.

"I could resign soon," Vucic stated, addressing the possibility of stepping down ahead of schedule. The Serbian leader was first elected as president in 2017 and secured a second term in 2022. Under the country's constitution, his current presidential mandate is officially set to expire in 2027.

The announcement comes shortly after Vucic declared that early parliamentary elections in Serbia would be held this autumn, scheduled between late September and mid-November. Following this, Ana Brnabic, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, announced that the ruling Serbian Progressive Party plans to nominate Vucic for the post of Prime Minister in the upcoming elections, signaling a potential transition in his political role.
