An Austrian refereeing team will officiate Sabah’s UEFA Champions League match against Slavia. Sebastian Gishamer will be the head referee for the game, which will take place at Baku Olympic Stadium on Oct. 13.
The referee from Salzburg will turn 38 that day. This will be his second appointment in the Champions League. Gishamer officiated his first match in the competition last November, when Garabagh faced Chelsea.
As in that match, Roland Riedel and Santino Schreiner will serve as assistant referees. Walter Altmann will be the fourth official. Alan Kijas and Josef Spurny will oversee the video assistant referee system. All members of the officiating team are from Austria.
The Sabah-Slavia match will kick off at 20:45. The Baku club lost 4-0 away to Manchester United in the opening round of the league phase.
