Scaloni cries during Argentina anthem before Messi’s farewell match

Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni became emotional and was unable to hold back tears as the national anthem played before the friendly against Benin.

The match between Argentina and Benin is being played overnight from Oct. 6 to 7 at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires. It is Lionel Messi’s final match for Argentina.

The 39-year-old forward has won the Ballon d’Or eight times during his career. Messi has been a world champion and Olympic champion with Argentina, and has also won the Copa América twice.
