Sahiba Gafarova meets with Serbian National Assembly speaker

Speaker of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, held a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, on June 2 as part of her working visit to Belgrade.

This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis.

During the meeting, Serbian National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabić welcomed the Azerbaijani delegation, emphasizing that Azerbaijan is a friendly and allied nation for Serbia, with bilateral relations continuing to strengthen steadily.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova praised the high-level organization of the Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, noting that such events serve as vital platforms for addressing contemporary global challenges.

Highlighting the significance of high-level reciprocal visits between the two strategic partners, Speaker Gafarova underscored the importance of the meetings between President Ilham Aliyev and President Aleksandar Vučić, as well as the strategic documents signed during these visits, which have laid a solid foundation for deepening cooperation.

The two sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest regarding inter-parliamentary cooperation. Azerbaijan and Serbia have consistently maintained strong diplomatic ties, characterized by mutual support for territorial integrity and sovereignty, which remains a cornerstone of their strategic partnership.
