Sabah FC is set to face Danish side Aarhus in the return leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round today. The match, which serves as a critical juncture for the Azerbaijani club, will take place at the Bank Respublika Arena in Masazir.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the match will be officiated by French FIFA referee Willy Delajod and is scheduled to kick off at 20:00 local time. In the first leg held in Denmark, Aarhus secured a 2-1 victory, leaving Sabah with a narrow deficit to overcome in front of their home crowd.
The UEFA Champions League, the premier club football tournament in Europe, remains the most prestigious competition for clubs across the continent. Should Sabah successfully overcome the deficit and eliminate Aarhus, they will advance to the play-off round to face the winner of the tie between Hapoel Beer-Sheva (Israel) and Crvena Zvezda (Serbia). Conversely, if the Azerbaijani side is defeated, they will transition to the UEFA Europa League play-off round, where they would compete against the winner of the match between Benfica (Portugal) and Hearts (Scotland).
