Sabah defender Timoteusz Puchacz has shared his views on the leaders in the Poland national team’s dressing room. He spoke about the subject during the national team’s training camp, in a conversation with Lukasz Wisniowski and Mateusz Borek on the Foot Truck channel.
According to Puchacz, Robert Lewandowski is among the players who take responsibility on the pitch at the most important moments. However, the defender does not see him as a leader who inspires teammates through speeches.
Puchacz highlights Glik’s influence
The Polish player cited Kamil Glik as an example in this regard. He said Glik had a particular impact on his teammates when he spoke in the dressing room: “When Glik spoke, we grew ten centimeters taller.”
Puchacz also discussed Kamil Grosicki’s speeches. In his view, Grosicki’s talks did not seem entirely natural to him. The defender stressed that he did not mean to belittle the player, adding that Glik had a special aura.
Puchacz said Grosicki’s speeches might have been more fitting during the 2016 European Championship, but that the situation had changed since then.
In the most recent international break, Poland recorded one win, one draw and two defeats in League B of the UEFA Nations League.
