Mikhail Zvinchuk, founder of Russia’s Rybar Telegram channel, has been detained in Montenegro.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that local newspaper Vijesti said Zvinchuk, his wife Valeria and three other Rybar employees were detained this morning in the Montenegrin city of Risan.
The operation was carried out by Montenegro’s police and the country’s National Security Agency, the report said.
The detentions were reportedly linked to efforts to prevent hybrid activities by Telegram channels involved in foreign information influence operations.
Rybar and its founder, blogger Mikhail Zvinchuk, have been among the sources of an information campaign against Azerbaijan in Russia. Numerous articles critical of Azerbaijan have appeared on both Rybar, which Zvinchuk founded, and the anti-Azerbaijani Tsargrad channel.
