French judoka Romane Dicko, who won silver at the world championships in Baku, said her final bout was difficult.
Dicko said she was disappointed by the defeat but believed she had fought well. In judo, she said, one mistake in a single moment can decide the outcome of a bout. She also said she was pleased to return to the world championship podium.
The French athlete also shared her impressions of Azerbaijan and Baku. She said she loved the country and its capital and praised the high standard of the championship’s organization.
“Everything was spectacular. I loved Azerbaijan and the city of Baku. There were many fans in the arena during the competition. Children wanted to take photos and get autographs. It was a wonderful championship for me,” Dicko said.
