Robert Fiko: Avropa liderləri Putinlə görüşə maraq göstərir

European politicians have shown significant interest in the meeting held with Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 9, according to Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Prime Minister highlighted the curiosity of his European counterparts regarding the details of his discussions in Moscow. "Everyone is calling me and asking, 'What did Putin say?'" the Prime Minister noted, pointing to a discrepancy between public stances and private interests.

Fico criticized European politicians for what he described as hypocrisy in avoiding open negotiations with Russia while maintaining a behind-the-scenes interest in diplomatic developments. "I regret that there is no dialogue between the European Union and Russia. This hypocrisy cannot continue," Fico stated, emphasizing that the lack of formal communication channels hinders regional stability.

The Slovak Prime Minister, along with several other European leaders, has repeatedly called for the establishment of a direct dialogue between the EU and Russia to address ongoing geopolitical tensions. These statements come at a time of heightened diplomatic friction in Europe, where Slovakia has frequently advocated for a more pragmatic approach toward Moscow, contrasting with the broader consensus within the European Union regarding sanctions and diplomatic isolation.
