Rain, occasionally heavy, thunderstorms and hail are forecast in some mountainous and foothill regions of Azerbaijan on September 21. Fog is also expected in mountainous areas overnight and in the morning.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that the Main State Traffic Police Department has urged drivers to exercise particular caution because of the expected weather conditions.
The department said wet roads, reduced visibility and fog in mountainous areas could seriously affect road safety.
Drivers are advised to reduce speed, keep a safe distance, use headlights in poor visibility and avoid sudden maneuvers. Checking weather and road conditions before setting out is particularly important when traveling through mountainous and foothill areas.
