Unsettled weather conditions characterized by wind and precipitation continue across Azerbaijan. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the National Hydrometeorological Service released an update on the current situation as of 16:00 on April 9.
According to official data, intermittent rain is falling in Sabirabad, Kurdamir, Gobustan, and Neftchala, while snow is reported in Dashkasan, Gakh (Saribash), and Shahdag. Currently, a north-westerly wind is prevailing in several areas. The maximum wind speed has reached 23 m/s in Goranboy, 22 m/s in Aghdam, Terter, and Naftalan, 20 m/s in Barda, Guba (Khinalig), and Shahdag, and up to 16 m/s in Mingachevir.
Furthermore, foggy conditions are being observed in Sheki, Shamakhi, Dashkasan, Goygol, and Lerik, where visibility has been restricted to 500 meters. Such weather patterns are typical for the transitional spring season in Azerbaijan, where the country's diverse topography—ranging from the Greater Caucasus mountains to the low-lying Kur-Araz lowlands—creates significant microclimatic variations. The National Hydrometeorological Service continues to monitor atmospheric processes to provide timely warnings for transport and agricultural sectors.
