“Of course, this is a very upsetting, worrying and thought-provoking development. When the roots, causes and motives behind conflicts are unknown, many questions arise. Something like this is now happening between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, and we are following these developments with deep regret. We believe that disagreements, misunderstandings and contradictions can sometimes arise between two countries, neighbors and friends, and that they can be resolved openly and sincerely.”
Baku State University professor and television critic Gulu Maharramli made the remarks in an interview with “Operative Information Center-OMM”.
The professor continued:
“But in this case, for the disagreement and misunderstanding to spill over into the media and be discussed in an undignified manner on social networks, with such attitudes on display, is disgraceful. We therefore hope this process will come to an end very soon. I believe that extremely ill-intentioned steps are being taken on both sides, while ignorant people are in the spotlight. This is very upsetting. We simply hope the process will end soon and that the principle we have proclaimed—‘one nation, two states’—will once again be upheld in its true and proper sense.”
