President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in the Shamakhi district for an official visit on March 23.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state visited the monument of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, erected in the center of the city of Shamakhi, and paid tribute to his memory.
Shamakhi, one of Azerbaijan's most ancient historical and cultural centers, has undergone significant socio-economic development in recent years. Such regional visits by the head of state are part of a broader strategy to monitor the progress of infrastructure projects, engage with local communities, and ensure the continued modernization of the country's districts outside of the capital, Baku.
