On May 9, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the newly constructed private houses in Shukurbeili village to inspect the living conditions provided for returning residents.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state and the First Lady were briefed on the extensive construction and restoration work completed in the village. It was reported that a total of 2,522 people, comprising 615 families from Shukurbeili, Shikhaliaqali, Dejel villages, and Mahmudlu settlement, are scheduled for relocation. In the initial phase, 635 private houses have been completed, including 615 for residents and 20 for service use, with houses ranging from two to five rooms.
The infrastructure development in Shukurbeili includes two kindergartens with 80 seats each, a medical center, a music school, a community center, and administrative buildings for local executive bodies. The village is fully equipped with modern utilities, including a 35/10 kV electrical substation, natural gas, potable water, and high-speed internet services. This project is a key component of the "Great Return" program, a state initiative aimed at rebuilding the liberated territories of Azerbaijan and ensuring the sustainable resettlement of citizens in their ancestral lands following the restoration of the country's territorial integrity.
