President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, on May 19.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state noted that Belarus was represented by a high-level delegation at the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku. Expressing satisfaction with the development of Azerbaijan-Belarus relations based on close friendship, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that active cooperation is being carried out in all areas. In this regard, the importance of the inter-parliamentary format was highlighted. Touching upon economic cooperation between the two countries, the head of state noted the successful implementation of joint projects.
Expressing his gratitude for the reception, Igor Sergeyenko conveyed the greetings of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to the head of state. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked the speaker to convey his own greetings to Alexander Lukashenko. The guest emphasized that the personal relationship between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Belarus contributes to the development of cooperation between the state bodies of both countries.
