President Ilham Aliyev has been awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Irpin," a recognition highlighting Azerbaijan's ongoing contributions to the city's restoration efforts.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state shared this development on his official "X" (formerly Twitter) account.

The honorary certificate was presented to President Ilham Aliyev by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan during a meeting with former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, who is currently visiting Baku.

The city of Irpin, located in the Kyiv region, suffered significant infrastructure damage during the early stages of the conflict in Ukraine. Azerbaijan has been actively involved in humanitarian and reconstruction projects in the region, including the restoration of educational and social facilities, reflecting the strong bilateral cooperation between Baku and Kyiv in addressing post-conflict recovery challenges.
