President Ilham Aliyev has held a meeting with former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, who is currently visiting Baku.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state shared details regarding the meeting on his official "X" account.
"We shared pleasant memories from our acquaintance, which spans over 20 years, recalled the joint work we have done to strengthen Azerbaijan-Ukraine relations, and exchanged views on the future prospects of these ties. During the meeting, I was presented with the certificate of 'Honorary Citizen of the City of Irpin' by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan," the President noted in his post.
The meeting underscores the enduring diplomatic and personal ties between the two nations. Historically, Azerbaijan and Ukraine have maintained a robust partnership, characterized by cooperation in energy, trade, and humanitarian sectors. Such high-level engagements continue to play a significant role in fostering bilateral dialogue and addressing regional developments.
