İlham Əliyev Şuşada "Yasəmən" hotelinin yeni korpusları ilə tanış olub

President Ilham Aliyev inspected the new blocks of the Yasaman Hotel in Shusha on July 11, which were restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President, briefed the head of state on the work completed at the site.

It should be noted that the Yasaman Hotel was originally inaugurated in 2023 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva. The hotel, originally constructed in the mid-19th century in the style of the Garabagh architectural school, had been destroyed during the occupation. Following its restoration by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the hotel initially opened with two blocks. The Foundation has now completed restoration and construction work on four additional buildings, expanding the hotel's capacity.

The restoration project adheres to the original architectural style of Shusha, incorporating the unique features of historic local houses into a new design concept. The boutique-style new blocks feature traditional "aynaband" (glass-enclosed balconies) and terrace zones. Furthermore, doors and windows were reconstructed based on archival photographs to match the original architectural aesthetic, complemented by extensive landscaping and beautification of the surrounding area.

Shusha, often referred to as the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, has been a primary focus of the government's large-scale reconstruction efforts since its liberation in 2020. The restoration of historic landmarks like the Yasaman Hotel is part of a broader strategy to revive the city's tourism potential and preserve its rich architectural heritage.
