President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to his Kazakh counterpart, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, following the successful conclusion of the national referendum on the new Constitution of Kazakhstan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Azerbaijani leader described the adoption of the new Constitution as a clear expression of the unity and national will of the Kazakh people. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the results of the referendum reflect the high level of trust and confidence in President Tokayev’s decisive policy aimed at the prosperity of Kazakhstan.
"There is no doubt that this important event, which provides for the modernization of the political system and the improvement of the management model, will mark the beginning of a new stage in the history of Kazakhstan," the letter stated. President Ilham Aliyev further noted that these reforms would contribute to the comprehensive development of the brotherly country and further strengthen its role and position in the international arena.
The Azerbaijani President also expressed confidence that the relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan—rooted in a shared history, rich spiritual values, friendship, and mutual support—will continue to develop along an upward trajectory. He highlighted that the strategic partnership and alliance between Baku and Astana will be further strengthened through joint efforts for the benefit of both nations.
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan maintain deep-rooted diplomatic ties, characterized by cooperation in energy, transit-logistics, and regional security. Both nations are key members of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and play pivotal roles in the development of the Middle Corridor (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route), which connects Asia and Europe through the South Caucasus.
