President Ilham Aliyev has emphasized that the joint efforts of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to address critical issues in both bilateral and multilateral formats are highly commendable. The consistent mutual support between the two brotherly nations across all platforms remains a source of pride.
According to the "Operative Information Center-OMM", President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during an interview with the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA). The head of state highlighted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) holds special significance.
"Last year, the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Gabala. Key issues regarding cooperation within the organization were discussed, and declarations were signed aimed at strengthening the OTS, ensuring closer unity within the Turkic world, increasing its political, economic, and military power, and transforming it into a center of influence and power on the global stage," President Ilham Aliyev stated.
He added that both Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan view the OTS not merely as an intergovernmental cooperation platform, but as a vital union that carries their shared history, culture, and spiritual values into the future. President Ilham Aliyev further noted that the contributions made by Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to the development of political dialogue, economic ties, transport and logistics capabilities, as well as cooperation in education, science, and humanitarian fields within the OTS, serve to deepen integration among Turkic states.
The Organization of Turkic States, formerly known as the Turkic Council, serves as a premier platform for fostering comprehensive cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries. Since its establishment, the organization has increasingly focused on enhancing connectivity, energy security, and cultural exchange, with Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan playing pivotal roles in advancing these strategic objectives.
