The historic treaty on allied relations has elevated the partnership between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan to the highest level, President Ilham Aliyev stated during his address at the high-level meeting held in the "SCO Plus" format.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic for the invitation and hospitality. "I am pleased to visit brotherly Kyrgyzstan again. A month ago, during my state visit, a treaty on allied relations was signed. This historic document has brought the relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan to the highest level," the President remarked.
President Ilham Aliyev also extended his congratulations to Sadyr Japarov and the people of Kyrgyzstan on the country's socio-economic achievements and the strengthening of its international standing. "Kyrgyzstan's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2027-2028 term demonstrates the international community's support for the policies pursued by Kyrgyzstan," the Azerbaijani leader emphasized.
The "SCO Plus" format serves as a significant platform for dialogue between the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states and their partners. This meeting highlights the growing geopolitical importance of Central Asia and the Caucasus in fostering regional connectivity, trade, and security cooperation between Azerbaijan and its Central Asian partners.
