President Ilham Aliyev attends informal summit in Cholpon-Ata

An informal meeting of the heads of state of Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries has taken place in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. President Ilham Aliyev arrived at the Congress Center in Cholpon-Ata to participate in the high-level discussions, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov welcomed President Ilham Aliyev and the other participating leaders. Following the arrival of the delegations, the heads of state of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan participated in a joint photo session.

President Ilham Aliyev delivered a speech during the meeting, outlining Azerbaijan's vision for strengthening ties with the Central Asian region. Following his address, other participating presidents also spoke, focusing on deepening economic, political, and cultural cooperation. The meeting concluded with the signing of the Cholpon-Ata Declaration, a document aimed at fostering regional stability and partnership.

This informal summit underscores the growing strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the Central Asian states. In recent years, Baku has significantly expanded its diplomatic and economic engagement with the region, focusing on energy security, transport corridors, and shared regional development goals. Such meetings serve as a vital platform for aligning policies and addressing common geopolitical challenges in the post-Soviet space.
