President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree approving the "Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement on the Procedure for Investigating Workplace Accidents Involving Employees While Outside Their State of Residence," dated December 9, 1994.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the decree mandates that the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan must ensure the implementation of the protocol's provisions once it enters into force.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is tasked with notifying the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) that the necessary domestic procedures for the protocol's entry into force have been completed.
The protocol in question was signed on June 5, 2025, in Dushanbe during a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government. This agreement is part of broader efforts within the CIS framework to harmonize labor safety regulations and ensure legal protections for citizens working across member states, reflecting a commitment to standardized safety protocols for cross-border employment.
