President Ilham Aliyev has signed an executive order to provide financial support to the Azerbaijan Minifootball Federation (AMF).
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the decree allocates 1 million manats to the federation from the President's reserve fund, as stipulated in the 2026 state budget. This funding is intended to support the federation's ongoing activities and development following the national team's recent success.
The Ministry of Finance has been tasked with ensuring the allocation of the specified funds. The financial support comes in recognition of the Azerbaijan national team's achievement in becoming the 2026 European Minifootball champions.
The Azerbaijan national team, led by head coach Elshad Guliyev, secured the European title in Slovakia after defeating Ukraine 2-0 in the final match. Minifootball, a variation of association football played on smaller pitches, has seen a significant rise in popularity and competitive success in Azerbaijan in recent years, with the national team consistently performing at a high level in international tournaments.
