Efforts are currently underway to expand transport corridors passing through the region, President Ilham Aliyev said during a joint press statement with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

The head of state emphasized that the Middle Corridor, which traverses the territories of Azerbaijan and Georgia, serves as a vital transport artery for both nations. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the ongoing and future commitment to providing additional efforts to further expand this strategic route.

The Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), is a key logistics project connecting China and the European Union via Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Turkey. In recent years, Azerbaijan has invested heavily in infrastructure, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the Baku International Sea Trade Port, to enhance its role as a global transit hub. The cooperation between Baku and Tbilisi remains a cornerstone for the success of this corridor, ensuring regional stability and economic integration.
