The Masalli District Police Department has conducted a successful operation as part of ongoing efforts to combat the illegal circulation and sale of narcotics on the "black market" in Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, 31-year-old Farid Mirzayev was detained during the operation. Upon inspection, police discovered and seized 9 kilograms of marijuana as material evidence.
During the interrogation, the suspect confessed that he had acquired the narcotics through an Iranian citizen, whose identity is currently being investigated by the authorities. Following the discovery, a criminal case was initiated, and by a court decision, a preventive measure of arrest was chosen for Mirzayev.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan continues to intensify its crackdown on drug trafficking, particularly focusing on transit routes and cross-border smuggling. These operations are part of a broader national strategy to prevent the spread of illegal substances and dismantle organized crime networks operating within the country.
