Police seize 8 kg of narcotics in Sabirabad

Ministry of Internal Affairs officers have removed a large quantity of illegal drugs from circulation during an operation in the Sabirabad district.

Law enforcement authorities have seized over 8 kilograms of narcotics in the Sabirabad district of Azerbaijan.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reported that the operation was conducted by officers from the Sabirabad District Police Department.

According to official information, 36-year-old Ilkin Abdurahmanov was detained on suspicion of organizing the illegal drug trade. During the search, police discovered and confiscated more than 8 kilograms of narcotics in his possession.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The court has subsequently ordered a pre-trial detention measure for the suspect.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan frequently conducts such operations across the country as part of its ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure public safety. These measures are a critical component of the national strategy to curb the illegal narcotics trade and prosecute those involved in criminal activities.
