Police in the Masalli district have successfully intercepted a significant quantity of illegal narcotics, according to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During a specialized operation targeting the illegal drug trade, officers from the Masalli District Police Department detained two suspects: 25-year-old Ibrahim Aliyev and 35-year-old Vugar Hasanov.
Authorities reported the seizure of a total of 14 kilograms of illicit substances, including marijuana, heroin, and opium. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and the court has ordered pre-trial detention for both suspects as the investigation continues.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan frequently conducts such operations across the country as part of a broader, ongoing national strategy to combat drug trafficking and organized crime. These efforts are aimed at ensuring public safety and curbing the distribution of illegal substances within the Republic of Azerbaijan.
