Polish police have received a report of a possible assassination attempt targeting Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
Interior Minister Marcin Kierwinski and Tomasz Siemoniak, the minister overseeing intelligence services, ordered officials to begin taking action, ministry spokesperson Karolina Galecka said on “X”. Representatives of Poland’s security services were also expected to meet urgently.
Government spokesman Adam Szlapka told “Polsat News” that the matter was serious and that Tusk had been briefed about the threat on Sunday morning, according to “TVP World”.
Szlapka said Tusk remained in Warsaw and was continuing his official duties. Security services were investigating, he added, and any information that could be made public would be provided after their meeting.
