The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan have successfully conducted another test launch of the Fatah-2 guided missile system, which has an extended range. Geo News reported that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued an official statement on the test.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the military said the missile is equipped with upgraded satellite navigation and modern avionics systems. It said the Fatah-2’s advanced flight trajectory and high maneuverability enable it to evade a potential adversary’s air and missile defense systems and strike targets with high precision.
ISPR representatives said the missile’s increased range would significantly expand the Pakistan Army’s operational strike capabilities and strengthen its potential to hit military facilities deep in enemy territory.
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and the service chiefs congratulated the military scientists, engineers and specialists involved in the project on the successful test.
Pakistan’s military also successfully completed tests on Oct. 6 of the Fatah-4 guided missile system, a ground-launched, extended-range weapon produced by the country’s defense industry.
