The heads of government of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) have expressed their formal support for the development of regional transport routes, including the Middle Corridor, following a high-level meeting held in Baku.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this commitment was detailed in a joint statement adopted at the conclusion of the second meeting of OTS heads of government and vice presidents in the capital of Azerbaijan.

According to the document, participants emphasized the strategic importance of innovation, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence for economic growth, pledging to expand cooperation in these sectors. "Recognizing the increasing significance of space technologies, we support the promotion of joint initiatives in this field, the development of transport corridors, and the integration of digital connectivity infrastructure," the statement noted. Furthermore, the parties highlighted the critical importance of the agreement on cooperation for the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

The Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), serves as a vital trade link connecting China and Southeast Asia with Europe via Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye. As global supply chains seek more efficient and secure alternatives, the Republic of Azerbaijan has positioned itself as a central logistics hub, investing heavily in the Port of Baku and railway infrastructure to facilitate the seamless flow of goods across the Turkic world. This latest declaration reinforces the collective ambition of OTS members to integrate their economies through modern technology and enhanced transit capabilities.
